Monthly Can & Bottle Drives
With the success of the recent bottle and can drive, the Churchville-Chili Lacrosse Club will be conducting monthly "Bottle and Can Drives."
It's easy and fun. Just collect and drop off the bottles and cans at the bottle redemption center in the N.Chili Plaza near Sweetie Pie whenever you have the chance starting on December 1. Just be sure to tell them you are with Churchville-Chili Lacrosse Club and the money will go to the Club's account.
Hope you can all participate and make this a huge success!

Churchville-Chili Lacrosse Club Teams Participate in Turkeyshoot!
On Sunday, November 9, fifteen (15) boys represented the Churchville Lacrosse Club successfully at the Turkeyshoot Tournament held at TSE. Thirteen Churchville and two Hilton players combined against competition as far away as Albany. The boys started slow, dropping their first game 8-7 to a 3-1 team (Barrie) from Canada. The Barrie team's 1 loss was to the eventual tournament champion Oshawa2 also from Canada. Closing strong, the team recorded 13-2, 8-6 and 9-5 victories to close the contest at 3-1.
Playing with only eight boys from last year's varsity roster, Churchville managed very competitive play. Varsity newcomers Nick Bruno and Jay Vogler(defense), Nick Gray(midfield) and Kevin Widzinski(attack) played a big role in supporting the returning Varsity players. Attackmen Ryan Yunker and Jon Hemink worked closely with a much improved Alex Pavone on attack while the team's only Senior (Keith Preston) managed most of the face-off duty and gathered many ground balls. Returning midfielders Zach Yehl and Taylor Kolmer contributed with strong defensive play plus a couple of goals. The defense was anchored by Alex Wezelis and Dan Fingland who played with an injury (Thanks Dan!).
A special "Thanks" to the two players from Hilton, Eriche Weishmeyer in Goal and Kyle Youngman at midfield. Both played very well with the team and the Club wishes them well in their 2009 season.
The Club starts league play at TSE on Monday, November 17. The next Varsity tournament is scheduled for January 2nd @ Sahlen's Sportspark in Buffalo. A select Varsity team will be invited to participate in this event.
Churchville Chili Lacrosse Club also had a team participate at the 5/6 level. A write-up will follow.
Second Annual Alumni Game Scheduled!
On December 30th at 8 PM at the TSE full field, Churchville-Chili Lacrosse Club will host the returning alumni to a good natured contest followed by refreshments. Former player, Doug Hemink (RIT'12) is organizing the alumni team through his facebook page. Cost is $10 per player and we look forward to a spirited contest amongst friends and neighbors followed by discussion over pizza and wings.
The Churchville-Chili Lacrosse Club looks to continue this tradition as time goes on and the program builds. Please mark your calendars and tell past players to make sure we let all past and present Varsity contributors know of the event.
Lacrosse Fun Night Was a Success!
(Rochester, September 24)… Rochester Knighthawks defenseman Pat Cougevan visited Churchville-Chili Youth Lacrosse Fun Night on Friday, September 19th. Cougevan signed autographs and competed in the fastest shot contest. He also gave instruction to the roughly 65 kids in attendance.
The kids also got their first glimpse of the Amerks and Knighthawks orange promotional truck. Boys and girls from all age groups enjoyed a fun evening of shooting, passing, skill competitions, and hanging out with others lacrosse fans.
